Troubleshoot and resolve desktop-related issues including hardware failures, software errors, and connectivity problems.
Install, configure, and maintain desktop operating systems and applications.
Perform hardware installations, upgrades, and replacements for desktop computers, laptops, and peripherals.
Diagnose hardware faults and coordinate with vendors for warranty repairs or replacements when necessary.
Ensure compliance with hardware inventory management processes.
Manage software deployment and distribution for desktop applications and updates.
Create and maintain software installation packages using deployment tools like SCCM, Microsoft Intune, or similar.
Coordinate software rollouts and upgrades to minimize disruption to end-users.
Implement and enforce desktop security policies, procedures, and best practices.
Configure antivirus software, firewalls, and other security measures to protect desktop systems from malware and unauthorized access.
Monitor security events and conduct regular security audits to identify and mitigate risks.
Provide training and guidance to end-users on desktop-related tasks, procedures, and best practices.
Create user documentation, tutorials, and knowledge base articles to facilitate self-service troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Provide remote desktop support to off-site users through remote assistance tools or remote desktop protocol (RDP).
Troubleshoot connectivity issues and configure VPN connections for remote access to corporate resources.
Required Experience, Skills, Knowledge:
Basic understanding of desktop virtualization technologies such as VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, or Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS).
Familiarity with mobile device management solutions for managing smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices.
Knowledge of endpoint security solutions and practices to protect desktop systems from malware, ransomware, and other threats.
Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues on desktop computers and peripherals.
Proficiency in desktop operating systems such as Windows (Windows 10, Windows 11), macOS, and Linux.
